PAARA has begun forming SIGs as a way to increase member expertise and our overall preparation for Field Day. If you would like to start or join a SIG, please bring up the topic at the next PAARA meeting.

1 GHz and Above—For the microwave enthusiast.

Organizer: Joel Wilhite, KD6W. More craft than hobby, more metal working than electronics, try your hand skills at building a transverter for a truely unique experience.

ARDF—Amateur Radio Direction Finding

Organizer: Peter Sheerin, K6WEB.
Also called t-hunting or foxhunting, this activity involves using radio and mapping skills to locate hidden transmitters, either for sport or for tracking interference sources.

IC-706—ICOM IC-706 Radio

Organizer: Terry Finn, AA6T.
The IC-706 is a great radio, but learning how to use every feature it offers is best done by learning from other 706 users.
