DMR and FM Repeaters
Table of Contents
PAARA operates a 2m DMR repeater, a 70cm DMR repeater, and a 33cm FM repeater.
The repeaters are located adjacent to Alum Rock Park at about 750 feet ASL.
All are open to all licensed amateur radio operators.
Please contact AI6KG for any questions.
FM 33cm (902 MHz)
FM 927.075 MHz -25 MHz PL 107.2 Hz
The FM repeater is also on AllstarLink and Echolink:
Feel free to link your ASL3 hotspot to the repeater. You may also link other Allstar nodes and nets, but do remember, please, to unlink them when you are done.
ARRL Audio News plays on this repeater every Friday at 6:30PM local.
33cm User Equipment
Alinco was the only manufacturer to make 33cm equipment specifically for amateur radio use. These radios are long out of production, relatively rare and fairly expensive on the used market.
Instead, we repurpose commercial radios, typically Motorola or Kenwood, to operate on 33cm. Some resources:
- How To Get on 33cm/900Mhz is excellent.
- kw902 is a goldmine for Kenwood radios.
AI6KG has a few Kenwood TK-981’s available for sale at cost (~ $100).
Allstar DTMF Command Primer
You can control the Allstar repeater with DTMF tones:
| DTMF | Command |
|---|---|
| * 1 nodenum | Disconnect from nodenum |
| * 3 nodenum | Connect to nodenum in transceive mode |
| * 7 0 | Status |
Note: node 0 means the last node connected, so *10 is shorthand for
disconnect the last node connected.
DMR
BrandMeister
The DMR repeaters are connected to the BrandMeister network.
PAARA Talkgroup
We use the W6OTX DMR ID (3224295) as the PAARA talkgroup (TG) ID (3224295).
This is the talkgroup to use to talk to PAARA members!
We encourage PAARA members to include the W6OTX TG (3224295) in their codeplugs.
You can also listen in on the PAARA talkgroup on Hoseline (click Player in the top right for the audio to start).
You can connect to the PAARA W6OTX talkgroup on your hotspot or on any repeater (that allows dynamic TGs) that talks to BrandMeister.

N6NFI/R
FM 145.230 MHz (-600 Hz), PL 100 Hz
N6NFI/R is a local 2m FM repeater with superb coverage of the Bay Area.
N6NFI/R isn’t a PAARA repeater, but is important to the club, as it is used for our club nets. It is also one of the most active machines in the area.
We recommend all club members to program N6NFI/R into their radios.
