2026/04/18 PAARA In The Park
- When: April 18th 2026
- Where: Memorial Park, Cupertino. Parking off of Alves Dr – lot, street, or community ctr
- Time: 10:00am - 5:00pm

Everyone’s invited
Please join us for yet another PAARA In The Park event, back in the Cupertino Memorial Park. Loads of fun, people of all ages to socialize with, lots of hams there to answer questions, etc. Come and just sit and chat, operate our HF, or participate in the featured activity.
The featured activity will be a walking Fox Hunt. Participants will search for hidden transmitters (“Foxes”) around the park, and fill in spaces in a fox hunt passport as you find each hidden transmitter. AI6YM will provide his PicoFox units.
No equipment is necessary. However optional equipment to bring if you have it: a handheld radio capable of receiving the 2m band FM – an HT or a scanner – preferably with a visible signal strength meter. Directional antenna if you have one (eg a tape-measure yagi-uda). Any other RDF (radio direction finding) equipment you wish to try. We will have loaners.
We’re planning to take a big club picture to submit to QST Magazine as part of the ARRL Year of the Club activities this year, so we’d love to have you join us and be part of the fun and the photo. The event starts and 10am, and lunch will be served around noon. We’ll plan to take photos around 12-1pm when we expect most people will be present.
Free lunch and drinks provided by the club!
Details of our previous “in the park” events from 20250913, 20250503 and 20240928
How do I get there?
We’ll be in the Group Picnic Area (Google Maps) of Cupertino Memorial Park.
Parking
Several parking options for Memorial Park are located along Alves Dr. (off of Stelling):
- Smallish lot for the park – may be full, and is partially occupied by a construction area
- Street parking along Alves
- In the Community Center lot (Quinlan Community Center, which is closed on weekends).
(Navigation apps may take you to Stevens Creek Blvd for the park but that is not where the parking is. Do not park in the the Sports Center lot. The Senior Center lot is mainly permit parking only, with a few non-permit spots, usually full.)
