Program:“Caldor Fire Animal Evacuations: Western El Dorado County ” by Cindy Bertsch, KG6IMU
Learn about animal evacuations as one part of a large wildfire response effort and what operating in a disaster environment looks like. Even if you never volunteer in a disaster area, the lessons learned are applicable for your personal preparedness. The talk will also highlight how ameratur radio is a useful tool for people to help their community even if radio operators are not part of an emergency communication group.
Cindy works as a professional civil engineer designing water and wastewater infrastructure. In her free time she volunteers in all aspects of emergency preparedness and response with the American Red Cross, San Mateo Consolidated Fire Department Community Emergency Response Team, Peninsula Humane Society Emergency Response Team, San Mateo County Large Animal Evacuation Group, and South County ARES.

Board Meetings
The PAARA Board meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm at the home of Marty Wayne, W6NEV. Address is: 1039 Bryant Way, Sunnyvale, CA. We conduct most of our club business there in order to allow more time for guest speakers and socializing at regular club meetings. Any PAARA member is welcome to attend.

September Board Meeting
The Nominating Committee is appointed by the President to decide on a slate of candidates to be recommended to the membership.
October General Meeting
The Nominating Committee presents its nominations to the membership at the regular club meeting. Nominations from club members opens at the beginning of the meeting, and closes at the end of the meeting.
